At the airport, immigration will give you a free SIM card with 1GB of data. However, this is only valid for 24 hours, after which you'll have to top off. While this isn't too difficult, we weren't able to do it online using our credit cards. I was able to recharge using a credit card (for a surcharge) at a grocery store. There are also storefronts at the airport that will sell you a SIM card with data for the length of your stay if you want to do that then. (Virgin Mobile is one, if I'm not mistaken.)

WiFi is common, and usually free, though there are sometimes requirements to give personal information for access. A VPN is useful.
